I'm trying to install a Xerox driver for my Xerox Work Centre 5225. I'm getting the following message:
Installation Status
The Xerox Global Print Driver was not able to be installed on your computer. The following items were not able to be installed: Reported Message: Please try rebooting your computer and running the installation again. |
I've tried rebooting my computer multiple times and still not having any luck. I need to use accounting codes for printing and was using a driver that was recommended to me on a previous thread on here. So far I've tried UNIV_5.520.6.0_PrintSetup & also X-GPD_5.433.6.0_Setup - Xerox 5225 Driver.
I am trying to install on a brand new computer running window 10 64 bit. I can install the printer using the microsoft add a printer option but then I don't have the option to add accounting codes so the printer does not print. Any help would be appreciated.
You appear to be listing old 32bit drivers, the current driver for x64 is UNIV_5.617.7.0_PS_x64.zip
I tried installing this one. I extract the folder to my desktop. I do not see anything to install. How do I install this driver?
When I extract there's 2 folders - 1 titled UNIV_5.617.7.0_PS_x64_Driver.inf but I do not see a way to install a driver from that folder.
You need to use the Add Printer option in Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers
Add a printer, choose the Printer I want wasn't listed option even if it shows up.
Then install Manually as a Local Printer
Then Create a new Port > Standard TCP/IP Port (You need to enter your printers IP at this point)
Then make good and sure that the Query the Printer and automatically select a driver to use is not checked .
After the wizard finishes, Go into Devices and printers and then right-click the printer and choose Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port and make your setup match these highlights exactly
When I enter the IP of the printer and then hit next I get a screen that says install the print driver. I used the Have a disk option and installed the driver that way but I did not have the option to enter accounting codes when I went into the properties where it would normally be. I cant print without the codes.
I then deleted the printer and used the windows update for choosing a driver and I again don't have the option to enter accounting codes.
Anything else I can try? I still don't have accounting codes and cannot print. Please advise.
This is what I see when I go to printer properties. There is no where to add accounting codes.
Under no circumstance will the Microsoft driver work.
So if this one doesn't work, you are out of options it would seem
