Xerox 8650 prints junk

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My Xerox 8650 has been giving me fits since buying it years ago.  I can print out one or two documents just fine, but suddenly it will decide it no longer likes what I'm feeding it and suddenly print out endless lines of what looks like code.  There is no rhyme or reason as to how or when it will do it either.  I can print out three PDF files of basically the same type of data, and the fourth will suddenly turn to junk.  I can run through an entire 60-70 page document, and then suddenly on page 43 it will suddenly start spitting out junk.  I can't leave the printer alone either, because if I send it a print job, walk away, and this happens, it will print out hundreds of pages of total garbage.  I've replaced the RAM and updated the driver and the firmware.  Nothing works.  There are no error codes either.

What's happening?
