Hey Joey,
Unfortunately, there isn't anything that we, or you, can do since you are not able to connect to the machine at this point. You'll have to schedule a service call with Xerox to have a Xerox Technician come out and tap directly into the Network Controller to redo the upgrade. The number to call to schedule the service is 1.800.835.6100 in the U.S. and Canada. Just tell them what happened and how it happened and that you would like a technician to come out and redo the upgrade for you.

Hey John -
I cannot connect via CentreWare or otherwise ping the system since it does not get past the initial startup. The power comes on but nothing shows in the display panel. It's as though it has nothing to start up from.
Thanks for helping out!

Hello jwnoble,
Have you tried to connect to your Phaser using CentreWare Internet Services like I mentioned in the previous post? If so, what happened? Were you able to connect and were you able to attempt the upgrade again?
John
Hi. I have the same issue. At upgrade it froze at 97% for 20 minutes before I powered it off. Now at restart I get a blank display panel and no indication of startup; the system usually comes back online within seconds. Is there a way to reset the device back to the factory original?
Hello markmjewelry,
You mentioned that now when you turn the printer on, there is nothing on the screen. Does this mean that the printer is powering on, but you have a blank screen? If that is the case, can you try to connect to your printer via CWIS (the web connection) by opening a browser window and typing the IP address into the address line? If you can access the printer this way, and it is powering up to the ready state, then you should still be able to try the upgrade again, you just won't be able to see the progress on the display panel.
The Phaser 4510 Knowledge Base has the step-by-step instructions for performing the firmware upgrade using CWIS if you need it.

I have a Phaser 4510. I was attempting to upgrade the firmware to resolve the errant low toner messages (which displayed even after installing a brand new cartridge).
The firmware froze at 23% installation and sat there for hours. I finally pulled the plug. Now, when I turn the printer on, there is nothing on the screen.
Any ideas on how to reset the printer to factory default?
Thanks!
