Xerox Phaser 6128MFP stops working when ethernet cable is plugged in

When the cable is plugged in, after a while, it will crash and the error will come up:

123-314 control panel error. Restart Printer

When I restart, the problem will keep coming up. The only way the printer stops bringing that error is when I disconnect the ethernet cable from the printer. I can fax and copy because the phone line is plugged in but when I plug in the ethernet cable to scan to another computer on my network, it will not work because once the ethernet cable is plugged in, the printer will crash. The ethernet cable is connected to the router so once it is plugged in, the xerox printer should come online
