Xerox WC 3345 Bypass tray error and scanner application questions

Hello to the forum.
I have a couple of questions about the Xerox Workcentre 3345:
1 - Why does the machine report an error about the bypass tray being empty if the tray itself is closed and moreover it has been disabled from the web interface?
2 - Is there a free scanner application that supports the "Scan to PC" function? The 3325 model ha the xerox scan assistant which is pretty fine, but it doesn't work with the 3345 model. Is there a replacement?
1. Closed doesn't disable anything, it just puts it out of the way, it also wasn't disabled, you just disabled the prompt it gives to program the stock when you do put paper in it. The notification cannot be disabled.
2. No on "Scan To PC", "Scan to" is done via the address book on the device or through CWIS, Scan to USB via the free download on Xerox.com and TWAIN is done via the driver on Xerox.com (Windows only)
