Xerox Workcentre 7655 Screen Solution

So, our Xerox Workcentre 7655 screen was not responding leaving the pritner essentially dead in the water.  The calibration seemed to be off as I'd press one side of the screen and it would register on the other side.

After 2 weeks of trying to deal with this, the last thing I tried was to press all 4 corners of the touch screen at the same time.  Somehow, some way, this worked.  The screen now registers every touch correctly and we are back up and running.

Sounds like you will need a touch screen soon.

The User Interface screen can be calibrated by a tech with the pen hidden under the UI.

Re: Xerox Workcentre 7655 Screen Solution

Is there a way that I can recalibrate the UI?  It is off and I'm not able to use the machine effectively.  I've heard you can press and hold 1, 3, and 0 and it will bring up a calibration, but that is not working.

Hello adamousman,

Thank you for using the Xerox forum.

I tried to research your issue and at the xerox support site for your printer.

I searched for  "calibrate touch screen"

Re: Xerox Workcentre 7655 Screen Solution

Hi, adamousman!

Try this:

1. Enter the UI Diagnostic Tests menu by simultaneously pressing the Phone, #, and * buttons.

2. Use the number key pad on the Control Panel to select Diagnostic Test number 2.

3.A grid will appear on the touch screen with intersecting lines.

4. Using a fine point pen or other objecttouch the cross hatch locations as they are displayed. This will set the correct points of origin for the display.

5. When complete turn the machine off and then back on again to exit diagnostics.

If this does not work, you will probably need an engineer.

Best Regards
Kimzi

Re: Xerox Workcentre 7655 Screen Solution

Slightly off:

  1. Enter the UI Diagnostic Tests menu by simultaneously pressing the Phone, #, and * buttons.
  2. Step 2 needs to read "Select 1. Touch Panel Calibration"
  3. Using the tip of a pen cap for better accuracy, touch the '+' sign in the upper left of the UI. It will move to the top center. Repeat the process until all 9 '+' are touched ending at the bottom right.
  4. Exit out of the UI Diagnostics by pressing 0 for Exit.

I just walked a customer through this very same thing.  Sent feedback on the KB entry for correction.
