It is possible to have a defective control panel, but first try to remove the control panel and disconect and reconnect the cable. Also remove and reconnect the SBC board (thet one where the network cable is connected), it have two thumb screws up and down and one screw at the handle.

Xerox Workcentre 7970 will not wake up after entering sleep mode

Product Name: WorkCentre 7970
Operating System: Windows 10

My Workcentre 7970 will NOT wake up from sleep mode, UNLESS sending a job to print via network.  Other than that, pressing buttons on control panel, including the Energy Saver button, will NOT wake up the copier/printer.  No activity is being detected by the sensors, and it won't wake up.  

Only way to wake up is to send a print job to copier/printer, or power off/on the machine.

Curious note:  The control panel screen seems to be failing, it appears fuzzy/blurry during boot up and the next 10 minutes, then the screen goes to normal sharp and clear view.  Maybe the control panel is causing the sleep mode problem and needs replacing?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
