empty but unneeded color toner cartridges

Does anyone (even Xerox) know a way (or a device) to make this printer think a missing or empty color toner cartridge is actually present and nonempty? Probably many users would like a way to use up their stock of black toner and to exploit the nice features of this printer without buying more expensive and unneeded color toner cartridges.
