No, not as individual part for a reasonable price.
I found lots of defective WC6515 on the market, but shipping them seems to be impossible. I'm betting each one of them has a working ADF scan module...
The part number of the scan module seems to be custom, officially liteon has not documented anything starting with "DL620", it should be "DL520":
Since my device works fine with the (repaired) flatbed scanner, I've got lots of time to find a solution.
FYI: I finally found someone who would ship their defective unit to me.
The unit also had the 062-380 error, and it seems like the flatbed scan module was at fault. Since I had already restored my unit to partial function by swapping flatbed / DADF scanner module, it was a <15 minutes fix to swap in the DADF module from the "bought for parts" unit.
I now have a fully working unit again and an additional set of drums, toner and waste toner bottle.
Total cost including shipping was less than an complete (original) toner set :-)
I have got the same error code on the display of my MFP Xerox WC 6515 DNI. I am very interested in your successful repair. Please, may I ask you to tell more detailed (step by step procedure) how you swapped the scan head from the CIS module inside the DADF into the CCD inside the IIT/platen glass scanner?
I Would like to execute the same first step repair to get at least the CCD scanner running again and find later a working scan head to fix the broken one in the CIS module inside the DADF.
You mentioned a service documentation, bat I could not find one for the Xerox WC 6515 MFP. Where can I find it?
I greatly appreciate your help!
Got exactly the same problem and waiting for the costs from Xerox... yay...
@missingparts I'd also be interested in and thankful for instructions how to change the unit once getting hands on spare parts.
Thank you so much and best regards,
PS. Yes, 452€ for an obvious production failure of the whole series makes me change my printer and scanner brand for the whole office. Farewell Xerox, never again.
i purchased this Workcentere 6515 less than a year ago. We print very little and my IT guy said that since we don't print very much, cheap inkjet printers that are not used very often will have the ink dry up and the print heads will not work. So he sugested we get a lazer printer with a powder toner. I looked over the **bleep** and settled on this Workcentere 6515. It has all the features we needed and it was a midrange in price. This morining I needed to print a set of plans. The plans printed just fine, but I'm getting several error codes (062-380) & (062-386). This thread tells me it's a scanner problem. I think I've used the scanner twice or three times in the 8 or so months we have had this Workcentere. So I tried the scanner, it wont scan or copy. I get a message saying "Unable to start job" I've tried restarting and turning it off than back on, no luck. I paid 800 pluss dollars for this machine and it was supposed to be the last printer I ever bought. If this is the way Xerox is going to do it's customers, I'll be looking for someone else to do business with.
Hello everyone, I have been using this printer for 2 years, during the next scan, the printer gave error 062-380. it is clear that this is a problem of the scanner unit. by calling the official service, they told me that it was necessary to change the motherboard. the price of the board from ebay is 260 $. it is clear that this is a scam for money. the error says that there is a problem in the scanner.
On this forum I found a message that you can change the scanning bars in places, so I did it. And, lo and behold, the scanner worked, and both the upper and lower scanners worked.
And after all this, I concluded that this error was programmed into the firmware, since I assume that
the scanning head has its own ID, and the program reads the number of hours of work, idle time and the number of scans. and when this limit ends, the printer gives an error. (for sure or not, only the manufacturer knows) (googly translation)
I don't think the CIS (scanner head) life is based on number of hours or number of scans that they worked, because I saw a few of them defective (even at VersaLink C405 that have the same CIS) as almost new (few months or number of scans). You are really lucky if yours work after what have you done, this means it was a flat cable bad contact.
@ gabiene, @ Arter
Where can I get a new scanning bar from? In my printer (MFP WC 6515 DNI) I exchanged them with each other, but one of them is broken. I have been looking for a supplier, but no success yet!
Do you know someone selling new scanning bars?
I think you need to get to know one of the service center masters well, because only an official service center can request the supply of any printer elements. I also tried to find this line of scanners for sale, but to no avail, ebay has a complete set of the entire top of the scanner unit for about $ 200.
