The closest fault I found says to power off and on and if that doesn't fix it place a service call. 1-800-821-2797

Product Name: Xerox 6204 Wide Format Printer
Operating System: Not Specified

When starting the machine, the error message  "external device error" appears. I have tried taking off one of the RAM sticks and re-starting it but the same results.

I presume the error is in the hard drive, does it need to be replaced or is there a method to reset it and install the operating system manually?? thank you
