Hi Ng,
I think I know what happened. You purchased your machine a year and a half ago from a local company and your machine came with a "startup" toner cartridge that was a neutral cartridge. (All machines are shipped with a neutral startup toner) A startup cartridge is non-market specific and is designed to last just long enough for you to order the specific toner cartridge for your 6128MFP. When your startup toner ran out, you purchased a new toner cartridge from outside of Israel. This cartridge was a market specific replacement cartridge and unfortunately the wrong cartridge for you since you are in Israel and the toner you bought is not for your area / market region. (It was the correct toner cartridge because it was for the Phaser 6128MFP, but not for a Phaser 6128MFP in Israel.) So, when you installed that incorrect market toner replacement cartridge, your machine switched itself to that market since it was the first replacement cartridge following the startup neutral cartridge. When that cartridge then ran out, you purchased a local (Israeli) Phaser 6128MFP replacement toner cartridge for your machine. This resulted in a "Invalid Toner" error message.
I'm being told that what your technician said about changing the market region of your machine is correct. It is not possible to change the market region of a machine without getting a new machine.
Because of that, I am hoping that you still have the order / product number from that replacement toner cartridge that you purchased from outside of Israel. If you still have that cartridge then you should try to purchase the same one again because it's now the "correct" cartridge for your specific Phaser 6128MFP. You need to find out what the 106R##### of that cartridge was and reorder that number again from now on. I don't have any other ideas for you in this situation. I hope that you can find that number and keep it handy so that you can use it whenever you run out of toner. Keep that in mind because if you ever need other supplies, you'll want to remember that your machine is not a true Israel product. The supplies that you need to order will need to match the market region of your machine.
John

Hello Ng,
I apologize for the long wait. Can you tell me what the serial number of your machine is and who you purchased it from? This will allow me to find out more about your specific machine and where it came from. (I can use the serial number of your machine to help determine what toner you should have.) Once I have that information, I will be able to figure out what we can do to get it fixed.
Thank you, Ng.
John
Hi John,
The printer is a year and a half old, this is the second time I change toners. First time I oredred toners from outside of the country and it worked fine. Second time I ordered toners from Israel and it did not work. I asked the company which sold me the printer to send a tech guy with new toners and the machine did not accept it, so it should be the right toners. The error code is: Invalid toner.
The "primary toner" the tech guy supllied product ID:106R01338
The Tech guy claimed that the toner I bought from outside of the coutry changed the region of the machine. Is it even possible? Do you know what region 2 means?
Thanks!
Ng
Hi NG,
Did you recently purchase your Phaser 6128MFP? You may have ordered the incorrect toner cartridge for your machine. Did you see an error message on the display screen of your printer after installing the toner cartridge? If so, what was the message?
Also, if you could, please tell me what the product number on your toner cartridge is? It will be in the format ###R##### for example: 123R45678. This will also help me.
John
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I'm located in Israel, I bought the machine in Israel. It worked fine and now it does not accept new toners.
The Tech guy who came here said that the region of the printer was changed and that is why it does not accepts new toners, He does not know how to change it himself, he says the only way to change it is to get a new machine, or to change the machine's computer. He installed new "primary toner" and it worked fine.
How can a region change? Is there a way a faulty toner can do it? If it chnaged why can't there be a way to change it back? What does region 2 means? can I buy toners outside of the country that matches region==2 and it will work?
Thanks again,
Ng
Hello NG,
Where are you located currently? What is the serial number of your device?
If you are located in the U.S. you only one chance of setting the region correctly when the printer is brand new and gets installed for the first time. If you are in the U.S. and the machine was originally installed in the U.S. then it will only accept U.S. toner.
If you are located outside of the U.S. I believe that a Xerox Technician may be able to change the market region on the machine, but I'm not positive about that. I know that it is not something that a customer can change - no matter where you are.
Hi!
How do I change the region of the printer from value = 2 to value = 1.
The printer does not accepts the local toner because of region settings.
Thanks,
NG
