Glen says xerox is aware of this issue and is currently working on a retro fit. It was expected to be released this month but has been delayed. When it is available I will post whether or not it is sucessful.
Call Xerox and see what they can do, although it sounds like a hardware issue, I'm not sure what they will be able to do in that case.
Joe,
It doesn't have a finisher BUT it does have a standard offset exit assy which SHOULD offset the copies. I have since watched another 5945, as well as a WC7845. the second 5945 I watched works only margionaly better than my problem machine and the 7845 works beautifuly. It separates the copies in 3" offsets. Both 5945s dump the copies helter-skelter. The drop from the exit to the inner tray on the 7845 is at least 4-5" less than the long drop of the 5945s.
Don't think my customer will accept your "solution".
Can you just confirm that a machine with high volume output was sold with no finishing of any sort?
That the person expects Offsetting while only having a catch tray?
Firmware will not help stack paper when it is out of the printer so it won't affect anything even if you are on the oldest 073 release (ends in 34540)
If there is no finisher, you are not going to get nice stacks of output, no matter the settings.

This copier has no finisher.
My customer is a law office that just replaced their WC5335 for the 5945. They do ALOT of batch copying and with the 5945 the Inverter Assy (PL10.11-1) is not separating the sets of copies. Copy pages float and move to the point where there is no separation. I have replaced the Inverter and the Exit Drive Assy (PL10.14-1) thinking the exit roller drive gear was binding on the exit drive gear. I have played with buiding up the Middle Tray in an attempt to keep the pages from dropping and floating out of position. No change. Firmware is current.
Any ideas?
