Doesn't t boot up but user interface states: "Problem with local interface detected. Turn off and restart". Unit dosn't turn off unless unplugged. 16K copy count. Unit worked fine until I recently but gently, hand trucked it to the second floor. Can it be a local ionterface board failure? Where is that board located. It doesn't appear to be located in the pull-out rear board tray. Thanks for any and all help.

It is likely the battery or the software module. Probably one of them is slightly loose after the move.
You would need a Service Technician to help with this.
