FYI- The paper out actuator will only declare a jam if the tray is empty. It tries to pull paper from an empty tray(It doesn't detect the tray is out) and declares a jam when no paper hits the registration actuator. So you'll only get a phantom jam whenver the tray runs empty. If there is paper in the tray, and the Lead Edge of the paper looks damaged, there is something obstructing the paper. I've never seen a broken no paper actuator cause obstruction but I guess it could happen. 

050-121 is a status code that means jam. It could be exit, registration, duplex, etc.  But there is a specific code in fault history that will be begin with 77-XXX that says exactly what's the problem

Hi David and all.

after much googling I finally got to the bottom of this problem. It turns out this device is identical to a Dell printer where it seems this is a common problem. the PAPER OUT ACTUATOR has broken. the part number is 120E33761 or 120E33762 I purchased one of these on line for £13 ($16) it is an easy replace.

You can pull the bypass tray and tray 1 completely out of the machine to see better. 

Jam codes begin with 7x-xxx

If it doesn't jam from bypass there is likely a scrap of paper in the registration chute off T1. You can tell because when it jams the lead edge of the paper will be damaged where it collides with the paper scrap.  If that's the case you can remove T1 and bypass tray and lay machine on it's back. 

There is a black plastic baffle that can pop out of the frame. The scrap of paper will be there.

Hi

My trusty 6605 keeps giving me a paper jam error. corrective aciton is to remove tray 1 and bypass tray and remove jammed paper. I have opened everything that opens and there is no jammed paper. Please can anyone advise me what is wrong.
