Hello amproject, 

Here are the instruction on how to set the tray priorities, you can also take a look at an article for the error code 016-910

To change the tray settings from the printer control panel:

  1. At the printer control panel, log in as administrator, then press the Home button. See the Related Content for additional information.
  2. Touch Device > Paper Trays .
  3. Select a tray.
  4. To set the level of restriction on the paper tray, touch Tray Mode and select an option.
  5. If you selected Dedicated for Tray Mode, configure the paper size, type, and color.
  6. To allow the printer to select which paper tray to use, for Auto Select, click the enable toggle button.
  7. To select a priority level for this paper tray, for Priority, touch the Plus icon (+) or Minus icon (-) to increment or decrement the number.
  8. Touch OK.

To change the tray settings from the Embedded Web Server:

  1. In the Embedded Web Server, log in as administrator, then click Home. See the Related Content for additional information.
  2. In the Trays area, click a tray icon.
  3. To set the level of restriction on the paper tray, click Tray Mode , then select an option.
  4. If you selected Dedicated for Tray Mode, configure the paper size, type, and color.
  5. To allow the printer to select which paper tray to use, for Auto Select, click the Enable toggle button.
  6. To select a priority level for the paper tray, click Priority, then select an option.
  7. Click OK.

Hey, Im currently having same 016-910 error with all my recent prnting jobs, can you please explain to me how du you mean setting the tray to dedicated? Thank you very much :))

Hi guys,

its was driving me nuts because settings inside Word clearly say its printing A4 paper size and settings in Xerox Print Experinece are missing. I was able to adjust the settings in following way

Word > Print > Printer Properties > Printing Options > Paper > Other Size > Change Documents Size > A4Printer settings.png

I hope it will help someone :) I am using Xerox WorkCentre 6515.

I've had some success by setting the tray to dedicated, rather than auto-select paper size. For some reason this seems to help it print sucessfully.

Then it won't be loaded as plain paper, and if it is, your error message (not the fault code) is different

But is the paper in tray 1 plain white paper? Because it also matters, not just the size. So does the orientation you load it

I know this thread is a little old; I'm having this problem as well. The posted solutions haven't solved it. Any other options to try?

 

The problem:

error code 016-910

printer says it's waiting for 8.5x11 paper, but also recognizes that 8.5x11 is in tray 1

I've tried the easy stuff: Opening and closing the tray, physically readjusting the paper size guides in the tray, factory reset, connecting via USB and via the network.

I've also tried adjusting the setting above to accept A4 and US Letter interchangeably

They do, you just turn it on in EWS, it isn't on by default becuase it isn't preferential to most.

 

EWS > System > Defaults and Policies > Specified Paper is unavailable
