Re: 2nd BTR

Hi,

  Any news about this problem?

Same here, last BTRs 7500, 38000, 14000 of 300K...

Re: 2nd BTR

We had a Versant 80 and had this issue. It was annoying, but bearable, as the 2nd BTR only needed replacing usually every 6-8 weeks failing anywhere between 150k-250k on the HFSI counter.

Two weeks ago we changed to a new Versant 180 and have already had two failing 2nd BTRs (HFSI under 15k). We were expecting the issue to be the same if not better, but it seems far worse than ever on the new machine!

We have now also changed to using Xerox approved (Antalis) coated stock, after our paper was blamed, but the failure has occurred even on that stock.

The "solution" the Xerox tech has given us so far is to run coated stock using "skip mode", but this is impractical as it slows the machine down by over 50%.

Re: 2nd BTR

I have this issue too. Running Versant 180. I get the same streaking (towards the non-operator side) around 75-125k in the HFSI counter (max life is 300k). They come in CMYK streaks sometimes, and there are times when its so bad that I can see the chevrons. I have no other choice but to switch out the 2nd btr.

Its a real pain because I don't know when it'll happen. I have to constantly check the prints in order to maintain QC.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one seeing this. My techs also think its a paper/voltage issue, but it goes away as soon as I switch out a 2nd btr. It seems like its an engineering fault.

Thank you for posting this.

Re: 2nd BTR

Technically a drum should be lasting 200k to 300k. I have seen them last a little longer. The thing I have to remember is that it's a consumables.
What you have to do is keep a rigorous cleaning schedule to try to keep the drums clean.
What I am thinking it to get a tech onsite to check the amount of toner being used in the diagnostic menu. He / she might be able to change the amount of toner being used. Hopefully with out losing print quality.
I personally don't think it's the paper.

Re: 2nd BTR

Wish we'd never got rid of our C75, same issues and 8 replaced 2nd BTR's later we STILL have the same issue. Xerox need to get on board with this and come up with a permanent repair, NOT putting a piece of cloth in behind the roller to remove the bits.

Re: 2nd BTR

Hi,

It is a known issue of the 2nd BTR of Versant family which will be solved in the future. You can solve for a short period by cleaning the cleaning blade of the 2nd BTR.

2nd BTR

Product Name: Xerox Versant 180 Press
Operating System: Windows 8 x64

I have a Versant 180 Press. I keep having a problem with the 2nd BTR. It starts to get lines on the roller which causes bad streaking on all the sheets I print. YOu can see the roller has lines in it like it was almost cut.

Soon as I change the 2nd BTR the problem goes away.

I am supposed to be getting 300k click atleast on one BTR but sometiimes only get like 30 to 40k before having to swap it out.

THe tech thinks its my paper but, another customer of his uses the same paer I do and he has no issue.

I have been uing the same stock for years. I used to have a C75 and used the same stock and never had an isse with the BTR.

Does anyone have any similar issues.
