Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

In my case, it was a bad printer and they replaced it. For me, the driver had nothing to do with it. Sorry I can't be more help. It was also quite a while ago, so I don't remember where the driver was, but it was probably on this site under the model of the printer.

Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

I'm sorry for the delayed response.  I just realized my RSS feed for this forum was broken...

To upload a file, click reply and at the bottom there is an option to browse and add an attachment.  Just don't forget to click "Add Attachment" after you've browsed to the file.  You can upload the Publisher document this way.

It sounds like the PCL6 driver solved your issue.  I'm not sure of all of the pros and cons of PCL vs. PS, but the general idea is PCL has faster processing and PS has better print quality.

Regarding the misfeeds, the 6600 is only capable of printing up to 80lb cardstock.  Hopefully you can decrease the weight to something that will feed a little more reliable.

Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

Oh well, now it won't load the cardstock I'm using. No matter what settings I use on the PC and on the printer, it tries to lift the tray to feed the cardstock, but never does, then gives me a misfeed error. This is whether I have 30 sheets or 1 sheet on the infeed tray. I'm using 100lb cardstock cut to 3.7 by 6.8. The few times it did feed, it printed OK.

Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

After installing the PL6 driver and using that, it seems to work. Should I use that driver? What would be the limitations and/or implications of using PL6 vs. PS?

Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

It happend on all of the Publisher documents I have that are being printed onto card stock that is about 3.7in x 6.8in. When I use a document size of letter and print to the plain paper tray, it prints fine. But the file I'm using is about 3.7in x 6.8in and on card stock. It didn't matter whether I used the bypass tray or tray 1. I've tried with the drivers on the cd and I've tried with the Global Driver (PS). I just installed the PCL driver but haven't tried that yet.

How do I upload the file?

Re: 6600 Prints Publisher document badly

Hello,

I'm an engineer on the Phaser 6600 development team and would like to better understand your problem. (& to hopefully get this fixed for you)

Would it be possible for you to upload the document that isn't printing correctly as an attachment?

Regards,

Seth

6600 Prints Publisher document badly

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My new 6600 prints my publisher documents about 100x smaller than it should. I haven't contacted tech support yet. Any ideas? Other documents seem to print fine. I've tried this on two different computers adn get the same result. I've also installed the newest global driver.
