7500DX Automatic Tray Selection Won't Work does not recognize tray 3

Start > Devices and Printers

Right-click the driver and go to Printer Properties

Select Configuration > Installable Options and set it up for your printer setup

I have a Xerox 7500 which I use with Indesign CC.

I am able to designate tray 3 within the software. The issue is the printer continues to only offer tray 1 &2 in the display options on the printer. Any suggestions why the printer does not recognize tray 3?

Just took a look and this setting has not been enabled for any of my testing.

In Acrobat/Reader, if the highlighted is checked, the driver settings can be over ridden.

Thanks for the reply. I checked this- and the only unconfirmed tray was the external tray 1. Tried filling it and setting the size but get the same result. HOWEVER- In testing I realized something interesting. If I attempt to print an excel document, or word, and set it to 11x17 and auto it does work- pulls the rihgt size fromt he right tray. If  I take the same document and convert it to pdf (or try with any other pdf) and set it to 11x17 auto it then prints 8.5x11, unless tray i smanually specified. It appears this is all related specifically to pdfs. Thoughts?

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure that the paper attributes have been set for each paper tray.  Then go to the printing preferences and select the down arrow in the paper field and select  advanced paper selection.  Make sure that there is nothing marked as unconfirmed. 

If unconfirmed does display please return to the machine and reload the paper and confirm the settings. If this does not fix the error please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Hello all-

My nex 7500Dx (Currently using latest PS driver and newest firmware) has one major issue that's been driving me up a wall. When a user prints to it and selects a paper size, say 11x17 (tray 4), and leaves the tray selection set to automatic; the printout will be 8.5x11 (tray one) and skewed on the page up and right by about an inch. Only if the tray is manually selected will it print 11x17. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
