Re: 8400 print quality

Is there a GUI for cups or do I need something in a file in a folder?

Re: 8400 print quality

Sry, vlsjekn!

I do not have any linux distribution at hand right now, hopefully someone else will be able to answer this question for you.

But I'm pretty sure you do it through CUPS.

Re: 8400 print quality

I tried the highest resolution setting on the front panel and I am not using Acrobat, Windows (currently), or Macintosh.

Re: 8400 print quality

Hi, vlsjekn!

The modes you have is:

Fast Color (300x300 dpi), Standard (300x450 dpi), Enhanced
(563x400 dpi), High Resolution/Photo (525x2400)

I would suggest printing a print-quality page just to see that it's nothing wrong with the printer:

1. From the Control Panel, scroll to Troubleshooting, then press OK.
2. Scroll to Print Quality Problems, then press OK.
3. Scroll to Troubleshooting Print Quality Page, then press OK

I also suggest checking the support page HERE and HERE.

Best Regards

Kimzi

8400 print quality

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I have an 8400DP and its print quality with its current settings with a Linux driver and with its previous Windows driver/settings is horrible.  I thought it is supposed to be 2400dpi, but the output is so distorted, my best guess of the resolution based on the output would be 200-300dpi.  Laser printers are supposed to give razor-sharp edges without all of the horrible distortions in shape that I am getting.  How do I adjust my Linux driver and the front panel to maximize accuracy of ultra-fine detail?  Would a memory upgrade help?
