Hi Richard,
I apologize for the broken link. The upgrade of the machine to duplex is a two step process. The memory must be upgraded and the configuration card has to be installed. Please take a look at this solution for information. I was unable to find the part number you referenced. If this does not help please consider contacting support.
Unfortunately when I went to the link you provided, I got,
The page you requested cannot be displayed.
The SIM card installed in the printer has the following part number printed on it, 156-8834-01.
I have installed the most recent driver on my Windows 7 system and properly configured it so I can choose 2-Sided Print, under the 2-Sided Printing menu in the Print Dialog.
The printers management webpage does not show Automatic two-sided printing with a check mark beside it. I had searched all over the internet and was under the belieif that the above SIM card, specifically the quoted part number enabled Automatic two-sided printing.
So, my question is, how do I determine whether or not the printer has been properly upgraded to perform duplex?
Hi Richard,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at this information on pritning duplex on the 8400N. If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I recently purchased an Xerox 8400N. It does not show the Automatic two-sided printing nor 525 sheet feeder as being installed, the check marks are absent.
I looked at the SIM card, and the part number seems to indicate the printer is set up for duplex, and, there is a 525 sheet feeder that works which is mounted on the bottom of the printer.
I suspect the previous owner bought a SIM card thinking that that was all it took to do duplex. I suspect that there is more to the duplex upgrade.
What should I look for physically on this printer to confirm thta it does or does not have the duplex upgrade?
