8560 jams on first page then prints fine

It is likely the tray 1 pickup solenoid. There is a test for it in the diagnostics mode, but that needs a Xerox technician to run it, or someone with a Service manual at least.

But even if it was known to be bad, not sure how you could source one without a donor machine that can't be fixed due to another problem if you don't have a Xerox Service contract.

My 8560 jams on the first page. The paper never makes it to the drum. I clear the jam, it prints the cleaning page and then finishes the print job.

It was fine and then this suddenly began happening. It seems like a sensor problem as it only happens from the paper tray. I can print from the bypass tray fine.

I have thoroughly cleaned the pickup rollers in the main paper tray with no improvement.

I took out the preheating unit - no paper pieces lodged there.

Frustrated!!!
