All,
This is an Apple OS bug, more specifically and issue with the verison of CUPS that is used in OS 10.5.x and 10.6.x. Some of the error messages were fixed in a combofix released by apple for 10.6.8 but the issue appears to be fully resolved in 10.7.3 and up. More information can be found on this issue at this thread.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Tim
Not much help but I had the same problem with a customer running an Apple laptop with Mac OS 10, IIRC.
Never was able to get rid of it after reloading Apple drivers and updating the machine software.
Put the machine in a different class room in a school and that teacher has never had a problem with it.
It is on the same network just the next room over.

Hi, http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/Phaser-8560DN-reports-quot-Ink-toner-empty-quot-quot-Ink-... is the same issue. I posted the following there
I have the same problem on two different systems running the 2d release of 10.6.8. The problem was NOT there under 10.6.7 before upgrading. I am seeing this printing to several Phaser 8550 printers. I tried upgrading to the new 2.0.9 drivers, that did NOT fix the problem.
I installed the latest drivers released July-22-2011 for our 6400X on OSX 10.6.8 and I'm still seeing the same error when printing about the waste bin being full.
The eror message did not go away after all, it was just a phenomenon.
Though it does not affect my ability to print, it is annoying to see that waste bin full message.
I've updated driver and firmware for both Xerox Phaser 8560 & ColorQube 8750 and still get the waste error? Any help will be much appreciated.
:womanvery-happy:
I deleted the printer and added the printer over my network.
The waste bin full error has gone away.
I printed and it did not return...
I removed the waste bin. I shut down the printer. I restarted the printer. It recognized the wastebin was missing. I replaced the waste bin. I printed a job. The error still appears on my computer. I got a message the driver was corrupt. I downloaded the driver and reinstalled it. I attempted to print, and got the same waste bin error.
