Here is a photo I took of a copy that was in the middle of a large, duplex printing job I was doing on my WorkCentre 6505DN. (See attached.) Again, this was in the MIDDLE of the copies. Shortly afterwards (maybe after another 20 pages), the printer ran completely out of toner (no big surprise, right?) and subsequently stopped printing (because it was out of toner), leaving me in a lurch.
Has anyone ever seen a printer do this before? and if so what the heck happened??? and how can I prevent it from happening again?
I use a Mac OS; the printer is almost due to have a new fuser, but the toner on the offending page is not rubbing off, so I would guess that the fuser is still ok.
Any input would be most welcome.
Many thanks in advance.
Thank you for using the Support Forum. If the problem has continued after you changed out the toner then try removing the driver powering off both the printer and the Mac then power them back on and reinstall the driver. If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
Well, it happened again, only this time with a couple dozen print-outs (I wasn't in the room with the printer when it was spitting them out).
This is VERY frustrating, not to mention expensive because of the amount of toner that is being wasted.
