Looking for some advice and help if possible. Recently opened up the office after 6 months and switched the printer back on and now im having issues with the yellow.
Machine was new since 2017 and all consumables including drums are all around 90% and still original ones since new. Machine has only done just over 8000 prints.
All other test prints nice deep colours but yellow is faint. Tried shaking cartridges, taking drums out and reseating them, cleaning the LED lenses but still nothing. To eliminate drum issue, i moved the cyan drum into the yellow slot and still same thing happening.
I now have a error which is Fault Code 092-670: ADC Patch Fail (Y) . ADC Sensor Failed. I cannot find where this is located and or how to clean and replace.
Can anyone shed some light on how to restore this virtually brand new machine please?
Hi thank you for your reply.
I have had a look inside the machine and up to the developing tube and toner is still powder and looks fine and the tube is feeding the toner ok. After coming back to the machine now, i do not get the error message now but the yellow print is faded. all other colours are perfect solid. Green is coming out a teal blue rather than green.
Is there anything else I can do to fix? engineer is going to cost me more than buying another second hand one to be honest. Such a shame as it has only done 8000 prints since 2017 new :(
another thing to note is i did a solid yellow and seperate green block on a word document and printed this 100 times on plain a4 paper, after 48 pages of patchy faded yellow and a teal green, the yellow and green appeared solid perfect. cancelled the job at around 90 pages and did the colour chart test and worked fine but leaving it idle and going back to it, it goes back to faded yellow and teal green?
any ideas? should I just buy a cartridge and change it over?
If you ran a bunch of solid yellow and it cleared continue to use as normal. If it comes back you've got a clog somewhere in the pipes from dispense to dev housing.
Always bang the toner heads on the ground until you can turn the cam on the back of the toner by hand. Toner can compact near the outlet so nothing comes out.
A new drum will not fix your issue
Yes so after 48 sheets of faded yellow, it went to solid yellow for another 40 odd sheets perfect.
Then machine went idle, i sent another print through and it started again. But the yellow toner has ran out now, allthough I can hear toner still inside. Im going to get another yellow toner and do the same prints again. I really do hope this will start working and clog clears.
Is there any suggestions on how to clear this? I took the front panel off the front and accessed the part where there is a tube that goes into the bit where the toner turns around (not sure what the part is called). That looked all clear and toner looked like powder.
is the error message MOB - CHAIN LINK 092-670 the same fault?
I have taken a look at the MOB sensor and looks fine, gave it wipe down. I have checked the yellow toner path and developer and toner is flowing, checked the developer for any lumps but it was all powder.
Still after doing all of this it still giving me the same issue, very faint yellow print out. I have now ran out of yellow and due another one on tuesday but I can try the same thing I did which is to do another 100 prints with a solid yellow and green block to see if it pulls through again.
The only other thing it could be is lack of bias to the dev housing or broken standoffs on the LED (provides lift to the drum to provide correct distance to the dev housing).
But above would not allow for issues to come and go. Based on my experience I would still think there is a clog or broken dispense. If you run a bunch of yellow and pull out the yellow drum is there a pile of toner on top of the drum? If so you've a clog inside the dev housing. If you change the toner and it says you're still out of toner, you've got a broken dispense.
I did put a new toner in this morning and it came up with only a quater in the levels.
It also now brings up two error codes
MOB chain link 092-670
MOB chain link 092 - 675
Checked after 100 prints of faint yellow and drum looks clear.
MOB chain link 092-670 - Yellow Test error
MOB chain link 092 - 675 - Yellow ADC (automatic density control) mini setup fail.
Print a solid green and red and post pics here.
