Hi Fabio,

ok, thank you.

I needed to access it to check if all settings are good for Smart eSolution communication but I've just noticed that Device Direct is not supported by the 252. This because I'm facing problem with XDA Lite  as it does not find the printer... are machines with DFE even supported by XDA Lite? If so what settings I have to check?

not all xerox machines with a fiery have an embed controller

the 242 for example doesnt have a xerox controller, so you can only access fiery

Hi CathyO-Xerox,

the prtiner IP address is set to communicate only with the DFE with it's own IP range (100.100.100.x) so I already have to access first Fiery Web Tools in order to access CWIS. The problem is that usually in Fiery web tools there's a link that allows me to connect to CWIS.

For example if the Fiery's IP address is 10.0.0.10 there should be a link in the page that points me to CWIS using port 8080 of the same IP address: http://10.0.0.10:80 --> Fiery Web Tools   | http://10.0.0.10:8080 -->  CWIS

In fact this happens with any other similar type of printer (e.g. 240,242,7755, etc...)...

So how can I access CWIS?

Thank you

Hi Kari,

Did you try using the IP address of the printer? You can get that off the Config report. Steps for getting the Config report are HERE.

When you have the IP of the device you can follow these steps:

To access the printer's CentreWare Internet Services web page:

  1. From the computer, open an Internet browser window.
  2. Enter the IP address for the machine in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The Internet Services home page will be displayed.

NOTE: It is a good idea to add the printer's IP address to the browser Favorites so that it can be easily accessed in the future.

If that doesn't work, there are some configurations where you may not have access to CWIS and would have to use Fiery WebTools instead. This could be your situation.

Thanks,

Access CWIS from browser with Built-in Fiery

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hi,

I'm sorry for the really banal question but I cannot figure out how to access machine CWIS.

With other similar machines I put IP address of the Fiery on a browser and then click on the Xerox centreware internet services link located in the lower right corner of the webpage near Xerox logo.

But what if the link doesn't appear? It's a bug or it's correct with this model?

Thank you

Kari
