HI KPEFLEY, I have not setup printing for the AS/400 in a very long time, stress very. However, Xerox has a guide on setting up AS/400 printing. AS400 Workstation Customization Object Library for Xerox Products - Xerox
In addition, you will most likely need to work with your AS/400 team to insert PDL code that includes a Secure Print Pin. Here is a link to the PDL guide, https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/content/149085.
What I've done in the past is to setup a print driver in windows to print to a file. Select the options I want, then print the file. I would then open the file with a text editor and look for the secure print section and use that as a template for the code that would be added to the pre-pend data sent to the AS/400 print queue.
Hello KPEFLEY,
I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a software specialist for more assistance with the setup of your IBM server. Please call 1-800-821-2797.
Hello,
In our environment, we have our Xerox printers set to only allow Secure Print for security purposes. However, we have an IBM AS/400 system that needs to send print jobs as well. I'm not an expert on IBM, but it seems that it cannot login as a user and since Normal Printing is blocked for non-logged-in users, the server cannot print. I'm looking for suggestions or advice on how to get this working. Basically, I want to somehow create an exception to the non-logged-in users rule for this server.
