B205 printer stuck on 'System Initialize'

Product Name: Xerox B205 Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Not Specified

Hi,

We have a Xerox B205 printer connected to the network. Today, when starting up;

  • It displayed 'System Initialize' on the LCD panel,
  • whirred a couple of times,
  • flashed the Copy, Scan, 'i' and '!' lights (the Copy light stayed on and then '!' flashed twice more)

The LCD panel then went blank, and it repeated the above routine over and over until we unplugged it.

Strangely, when I unplugged the network cable, it did the same thing but got slightly further - It displayed the 'Number of copies' menu, before rebooting itself and repeating the above.

So far I've tried disconnecting the power for a few minutes, booting without the network connection and booting it whilst it's connected to a laptop via USB. None of these have made any difference. I also looked into reinstalling the firmware and performing a Factory Reset, but both of these seem to be options only available from the onscreen menu, which we can't access as it never gets that far.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
