Re: B210/DNI prints gibberish / random characters over wifi/network - macOS Big Sur - M1 processor

I called the support. For this printer, I was supposed to use the 2nd number: 1-800-835-6100.

Anyway, apparently I'm not supposed to use Airprint, but to use the Generic Postscript driver when adding the printer in Preferences. Print previews will show as colour because it doesn't detect it's a black/white only printer.

Hello VeganSoyBoy69,

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Software Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

Thanks,

B210/DNI prints gibberish / random characters over wifi/network - macOS Big Sur - M1 processor

Jump to solution
Product Name: Xerox B210 Printer
Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

To be clear, this printer seems to work fine over USB. But I got a wifi printer so it could be accessible to all computers on the network.

The tutorial that shows the installer package is no longer applicable. It doesn't give you the option to add/use printer in the installer anymore. As of the latest version to this day. After the installation, the software for the B210 printer doesn't appear in the list of printers either.

The printer is connected to my network router via wifi. I'm able to print fine from a Windows PC connected to the network.

On macOS, the only way I got it to connect and add the printer was by using the AirPrint protocol but then it would print a bunch of gibberish, random characters and symbols spanning over several pages. The driver/dmg package doesn't help and nor add any Xerox entry to the printer software list. Not sure if it has something to do with it being an M1 macbook vs traditional Intel based macbooks.
