No problem, since it appears you mean this, that makes the answer a simple one. No.
Even on the basic Mobile Express driver that will always be selectable.
I think i misunderstood the concept. Now when we print there is a first page where the ID, date and other info appears. I guess that's the "banner page". I was trying to configure the user ID and print date on every page, as header and footer as mandatory, as users can change that.
Maybe now is clear.
Thanks you so much for your support.
You could use another driver or change the firmware on the printer.
The option you speak of should not in any way change the Banner sheet being printed. At best it should add the job ID to the margins of the job as well. If it is a glitch, it would be resolved via disabling the banner, rebooting, then re-enabling the banner.
If it is some sort of massive corruption a tech should be brought in to do a Forced Altboot.
It is definitely not a known issue on the device in question though, so corruption/glitch is the only thing it can be.
Hi. I've tried that but users still can change the option when printing. Basically they go through printer properties > advanced > ID
Is there any way to block users to change it there??
Thanks
You just change the next box to not allow the driver to override the banner. Properties > Services > Printing > General
As for color control, either use XSA to only allow specific user accounts for color, or just make anyone who is not logged in totally lose that ability entirely via:
Properties > Login/Permissions/Accounting > User Permissions
Select the Edit for User Permission Roles
Select Edit for the Non-Logged in users
Then simply lock them out.
But, please, make absolutely certain all your users know what you did and to not call Xerox because "They can't print in color". If they don't know, and they call Xerox, there is at least an 80% chance a technician will come on site and wipe the device, this should not happen, but it does, and the reason is that changes like this are made without the end-user being aware, and the end-user calls Xerox, and since Xerox is left troubleshooting a "Worked yesterday, doesn't today, nothing has changed on our end" call, the device gets wiped.
Hi, I'm struggling to force my users to print always with the banner page. I mean, pages always printed with the userd ID and date. We could only establish a default setup but we have realized that users can change that when printing.
Is there any way as for forcing B/W printing to do this?
Thanks!
