Unfortunatly it didn't work.

Resetting te settings on the copier yielded no positive results.

Re: Banner sheet

I went to the machine logged on as admin and went into the settings, turned on the banner sheet for 1st page, logged off.

Then I logged on again as admin (just to be sure the setting was applied), went to that setting again and turned it back off.

I posted a notice so people would let me know if it happens again, now i'll have to see..

Re: Banner sheet

I ran into that issue on a different model Xerox.  What finally fixed it for me was, at the machine, I went into the setting for the banner sheet that showed disabled.  I changed it to enabled and saved the setting.  Then I went back in and changed it to disabled and saved the setting again.  I haven't had a problem since.

I checked on 2 other users' computers and the regular Properties didn't have it. The Defaults are disabled for regular users, but those also don't have it on the Server.

Are you ckecking in both locations:

1. Printer Properties -> Preferences -> Advanced

AND

2. Advanced -> Printing Defaults -> Advnaced

I would bet that when you are printing the banner sheet one of those options is set to ENABLED.

Hope that helps!

Re: Banner sheet

Are there any drawbacks or things I should consider when switching to LPR mode?

The banners have indeed been disabled on the windows 2003 server's driver, when it comes to the computers I cannot be 100% certain. I can say that, when I had this problem, immediatly afterwards I went to the settings on my computer and they stated it was also turned off.

Re: Banner sheet

- it sometimes helps to configure the port settinng to lpr mode instead of raw, with quene name lp

open driver properties, goto ports tab, then click on configure port

also , you stated you have dsiabled banner on the driver, but if you print a document, and you goto properties , it it also disabled on the clients?

maybe the configuration wasnt pouplated to the clients from the server, or maybe the profile wasnt updated on the client

I'm having problems with our Xerox WorkCentre 7232.

Lately it's been printing a lot of banner sheets as show below:

bannersheet.jpg

I checked the settings on our printer on our Windows Server 2003 and went to the machine to check the settings.

Both appear to have the banner sheet off.

I tried the steps below to do it on the machine:

copy/pasted from support section :

  1. Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel. The Machine Status screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
  2. Select the [Tools] tab on the Touch Screen.
  3. Select the [System Settings] button. The System Settings screen will be displayed.

NOTE: If the System Settings option is not displayed, it is required to login as a System Administrator to complete this solution. See the Related Items below for additional information.

  4. Select [Print Service Settings].
  5. Select [Other Settings].
  6. Select [Banner Sheet], and then select [Change Settings].
  7. Select [On] to enable or [Off] to disable the Banner Sheet.
  8. Select the [Save] button.
  9. Select the [Close] button.
  10. Select the [Logout] button on the Touch Screen.
