Re: Black Toner not fusing on paper

Jump to solution

Got a brand new fusing unit from Xerox within 48 hours... Just replaced the old one, and it started back to print as expected...

I hope this fuser will last more than 3 months...

Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

As the printer is still under warrantly, I made a request to the customer service, and they will send a new fusing unit to replace the one in my printer. I hope it's gonna fix it!

I'll keep you inform of the results after replacing the fuser.

Have a good day!

If that fuser isn't hot (don't touch it as you'll feel the heat) then I suspect a mechanical fuser failure or the electronics to trigger it to heat up and fuse the toner.

A cut in fix for the fuser was introduced. It's probably still under warranty

Hi,

If the paper settings are OK, yes could be the fuser. Power OFF the machine, open the rear door and take out the fuser and look at it. Sometimes the Fuser Pressure Film is distroyed and this make the toner to be unfused on paper.

Black Toner not fusing on paper

Product Name: VersaLink C405 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Hi everyone!

Just bought a VersaLink C405 in november 2018. In the last couple of days, when printing black document with text, the toner does not adhere on the paper. In fact, when we touch the toner on the paper, it just goes away.

Printer is almost new and has printed less than 5000 pages since the purchase. We use the same settings everyday to print copies and word documents, on legal size paper. It was working godd until now. People talks about the fuser or mayby the paper settings. As I said, the settings are the same as they were since the begining.

Does the fuser can really get that bad after 4000-5000 pages???

Thanks for your help!
