It is not from fuser. Try to replace the black imaging unit.

Hi Gabiene. We have the same problem. Graphics with black in them are printing fine, but all text is printing grey. We are off warranty and we have ZERO Xerox technicians in our city (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada), so when we called Xerox, they suggested replacing the imaging unit or the fuser unit. Any suggestions?

We have the SAME problem. We think it is a software issue because the black in graphics is printing perfectly but the text is printing light grey. Help!

It is possible to have a problem with the black drum cartridge.

Hi All

Can somebody please help me. Last April our printer randomly started to print light grey instead of black !  

We changed the black toner, but this made no difference. We called in a friend who does our IT and he re-set our system and even re-set the printer back to the factory setting, but it still printed in faint grey instaead of black!

We then decided to call in a local copier engineer after we had tried everything possible, but the printer randomly started to work fine the day before he was due to arrive, and so we cancelled him !

Unfortunately we have had the same issue happen again this week and so we wondered if anyone could help !
