Actually, the first post was the helpful one. There was a single piece of configuration I was doing wrong, which was in "Layout", "Shrink to fit" was ticked. Once I un-ticked it, the result was perfect.
Thank you very much for the help! :)

Your result implies that in the application you choose tabloid as being the document size, most likely in the OS level of the Print Window typically by going to "Paper handling" instead of "Fiery features"

Also can happen when confusing Document Size and Paper Size in the Fiery features > Full Properties > Media

Appologies for the Windows Screenshot, did not have time to go to a Mac for it.

If neither of those is the issue there is a serious issue with the printer, because those are the only 2 ways you should be able to get the output of what is showing in your picture with a letter LEF document not being modified by the application in use.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the quick reply.
I might have expressed myself the wrong way, because what you described is exactly what I described in my original post, yet, the printed result was not right.

Sounds like you are using Applications to do the booklets.

Try and not do that , that way all booklets will be done the same no matter the application.

So when you click File > Print make sure the application is not messing with anything. So in Acrobat do not go into Booklet, just leave it as Actual Size (If Letter LEF) or Fit (If smaller than Letter LEF)

Now go into the printers settings via the Printer button, then straight into Fiery Features > Full Properties > Layout > Booklet > 11*17 and it is suggested to set the covers to Print on Both Sides as EFI tends to always assume a cover, even when not defined. So page 2 would always be blank by default, make sure Shrink to Fit is not enabled.

Then go to the Finishing tab and set it to Output tray = Booklet output tray, Fold = Booklet Fold, Staple = Center

,

This will print a proper booklet from any application as long as the original document is Letter LEF.

In a preimposed booklet you skip the Booklet layout all together, set it to Tabloid paper in the media tab and make it Duplex Top-Bottom

I won't get into Indesign, too many variables.

Think of it this way, all the programs have those little features to support printers that do not have them.

Even Microsoft says to print with Acrobat/Reader when printing to a production machine, it is built on Postscript and is the standard in print. Adobe does too. But I would suggest PDF/x3, as it is by far the most supported from all the printer manufacturers and RIPs.

Booklet printing from Mac OSX 10.10 (C75)

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi Xerox community!

Some of our users have been having problems for quite some time now when it comes time to print booklets from Mac OSx 10.10 to our Xerox C75 printer.

After destroying a forest or two, we managed to figure out how to do it from an InDesign file, but when we tried replicating the same thing from a similar document in Adobe Acrobat, it didn't work (and we subsequently destroyed a few forests while trying).

The original document, in both situations, is a set of 8½x11 pages, that we need to be sent to a booklet in 11x17.

Here's how we'd do it:

Print > Page Sizing & Handling: Actual size > Printer > Pages per sheet: 1 > Fiery Features > Full Properties > Media > Paper size: 11x17" > Layout > Booklet > Booklet type: Saddle & Left Binding > Paper size for 2-up: 11x17" > Finishing > Fold style : Booklet-fold > Fold order: Outside > Stapler mode: Center

This used to work as I said, with an InDesign document, so that every single 8½x11 page would be on one side of the 11x17 page, in full size.

Instead, here's what the result looks like for the first page:

img-910100212-0001.jpg

The page is there, but, it's as if the margins are not correct, so the page is not aligned at the top-left, and there's a big chunk of the page missing.

Could someone help me with this? I have a bunch of users that need this to work, and for some reason, we can't figure it out.

Thanks! :)
