Re: Booklet printing from Mac OSX 10.9 does not work

Jump to solution

OK, here is the final solution !

The problem actually is, that the driver does NOT select the correct paper feed automatically, even if it is set up. You manually need to select the correct paper feed to make the thing going but then the printer works fine.

Problem actually is the paper orientation which needs to be correct for booklet printing. Even when the printer has a paperfeed with the correct orientation, this feed is NOT selected automatically.

So here is the ... well ... bug in the printer driver. If you know it, its easy to avoid.

Well, after some hours I found at least a solution which works.

I took the PPD-File from the Driver for IOS 10.5 and copied it into the CUPS-directory >>/etc/cups/ppd<< and replaced the existig PPD file. This works with 64 bit apps and gives me full access to the complete finisher.

In my eyes the PPD file contained in the actual driver is somehow broken.

Booklet printing from Mac OSX 10.9 does not work

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

I have some strange problem with printing on my WorkCentre 7345 with professional finisher.

Printing from Mac works fine, even punching and stapling is no problem. But when I try making a booklet, I (or the printer / driver) fail miserably.

The original document is A4, it should be printed as a booklet on A4 paper, so that the resulting pages are size A5. The output at least produces two pages on one A4 sheet, but only one sided. The rear of that sheet is not printed, the printer prints that content on another page. All pages are delivered to the upper right tray, the booklet maker does not move at all.

A test with Windows driver shows, that the booklet maker works fine and the 7345 is clearly able to produce booklets. The printer has the PostScript module installed and the latest firmware. The OSX-driver is as well the latest one.

Any ideas someone ?

Many thanks for your help in advance,

Guido
