The problem turned out to be the lazy service technician who did not check the stapler the first time he was here. The problem was a bad stapler. Now staples B4 properly in book format. Thanks for your time.
Dave
Will do Mitch, thanks again for the info.

Hi again d.feil,
I am sorry that you still have this issue.
Technicians are usually experts on broken or non functioning device issues and may not have the experience of our customer support centers.
Our customer support analysts deal with the confusion of programming the device's many features every day.
Since we did not get other suggestions in this forum from users with experience on this topic, I would also suggest that you consider contacting these 2nd level experts.
If possible please post the final solution here for everyone else to benefit in the future..
Xerox Support for this product can be reached in the following ways:
(Please have the serial number of your Xerox product.)
Thank you for the response, it will only put one staple in the 11 X 17 as well. We had a service technician come in and he said if it isn't 8.5 X 11 then he doesn't know how to fix it. Nice, so he gave me second level support number to call. Yeah.
Hi d.feil
Thank you for using the Xerox forum.
I would suggest that you review the following 7775 support site where you can find the details of job programming and other solutions.
I checked the User Documentation and found the following which doesn't reference B4 so you may wish to try the A3 or A4 papers and see if it works then.
Printing Booklets
With 2-sided printing, you can print a document in the form of a small book. Create booklets for any
paper size that is supported for 2-sided printing. The driver automatically reduces each page image
and prints four pages per sheet of paper (two on each side). The pages are printed in the correct order
so that you can fold and staple the pages to create a booklet.
Notes:
•Automatic folding requires the optional Professional Finisher or the optional Light
Production Finisher.
•Booklets can be created using 8.5 x 11 in. (A4 210 mm x 297 mm) paper and 11 x 17 in. (A3 297
mm x 420 mm) paper.
When you print booklets, you can specify the creep and gutter in supported drivers.
•Gutter: Specifies the horizontal distance (in points) between the page images. A point is 0.35 mm
(1/72 in.).
•Creep: Specifies how much the page images are shifted outward (in 10ths of a point). This
compensates for the thickness of the folded paper, which otherwise would cause the page images
to shift slightly outward when folded. You can select a value from zero to 1.0 points.
If that does not resolve your issue you may consider contacting our specific product support experts at the following link:
Fast Track to the Expert
Hello,
I am printing a planner with booklet fold and staple, but the machine is only putting in one staple instead of two or three. It will saddle stich with three or four no problem, is there a setting I am missing? I am using B4 paper. Thanks in advance.
