So, after installing the driver we are constantly faced with a "Held for Rescources 016-910" notice for our print job as it is going to the Bypass Tray whether it is opened or closed.
What we are trying to accomplish is making Tray 1 the default tray when auto-select is enabled in our preferences and in the printer settings of the device itself. For full background on this, we have tried all manner of drivers (PS, PCL, PPD, etc.) installing them manually as well as through the xerox smart installer app. During the auto installation we tried all driver options using both the Type 4 and Type 3 print system. Nothing seems to matter.
We have logged into the printer as an admin and made sure that the Tray 1 is set to priority 1, tray 2 to priority 2, and Bypass Tray is set to Priority 3. We have tried the internal setting to auto select enabled as well as disabled. It still will try to print to the Bypass Tray no matter what. The only thing that makes it print to Tray 1 is by setting the print preferences to print to Tray 1 manually. But then if we set that as the default preference then when we try and print to tabloid, which is in Tray 2, it doesn’t do it automatically and we have to go back into the same preferences and manually select tray 2! It’s maddening. This has been an issue from day one with this printer. We have also reset the printer to factory defaults twice now just to see if that would help and it has not.
