Re: Empty toner after replacement

It's not a secret, but you need a technician, because you need to remove several components of the toner dispersion to see what is damaged or clogged. The idea is that the toner must reach the development tank where the toner concentration sensor is located. If the toner does not reach there, the machine logic states that the toner cartridge is empty. In principle the cartridges that the machine has declared empty, will be able to be used and will show the correct percentage after the problem is solved. I am sorry for your problems, but I have not heard and have not at least such defects so far.

Re: Empty toner after replacement

Got the new toner. Put in the new cartridge and the message said "shake toner" so I did. Repeat. Third time the message read the brand new high capacity was empty. According to the tech I talked to, once the printer reads the cartridge chip and determines it empty, it will always read that chip as empty. Regardless if it is or not. So ... once a cartridge is deemed empty, it always will be. You can buy chips to put on the toner, but the printer will always think it's empty if there is a clog in the printer's toner receptacle. So, how do u clean the clog? Xerox won't tell u...it's a secret, even after you do clean it, all the cartridges are useless because the printer will still read the chips as empty. I called a local Xerox dealer to see if they wanted to buy my less than two year old printer for parts (and high capacity toner) ...they laughed and told me to just throw it in the dumpster.

Re: Empty toner after replacement

O.K., I called in and of course no warranty . . . but I did order the hi-capacity toner through Xerox, so the guy said he would overnight another one that sometimes its the cartridge and not the printer . . . so if that doesn't work, same high priced deal . . . will keep you all posted. [PS-usually a message will state, "it's time to order toner," right? This one just went immediatelt to "it's out" with no warning . . . badd buzz, don't want to be nagative, and at least they sent me a new cartridge, but I don't think it's that ... ]

Re: Empty toner after replacement

AGREE . . . same issue, just installed a black high capacity last month (printed 200 pages) , today it says its empty. Won't work . . . and the Xerox site is totally useless. Had a xeroc phaser for over ten years, it was a work horse. Obviously xerox's quality and reliable are a thing of the past.

Re: Empty toner after replacement

New update!

So we called the tech(which cost us around $500 for almost 2 hours) and still can't get it solved. It's a extremely low millage machine said by the tech which shoudn't have problem like this. He took apart the whole machine and found the drive motor for black toner seems not working. He needs to go back and check with his boss and figure how expensive that part gonna cost(he said expect that to be expensive....).

So we got 571 pages printed in black and white and the machine cost us $1500, toner cost $200, the current tech guy visit costs us $500, we are now printing more than $4 a page.......that's rediculous. How come a big printing machine made by a big company this unreliable(and yet the machine is relatively new but JUST pass warranty). If the part gonna cost us several houndred dollars, should we just through away the machine and buy a new one that would at least has new 1 year warranty( that certainly won't be an Xerox printer).....

Thought we are saving money by getting a legit laser printer, well, we are not.

Very unsatisfied with Xerox....very....

I'm the most frustrated customer now I think

Re: Empty toner after replacement

You said that the machine have just 500 prints on counter and that's why I supposed the toner can be clogged somwhere on the dispending module. The counter is too small for one year.

Re: Empty toner after replacement

I've tried to shaked the toner many many times. Desn't work. How come it get clogged after just few hundred printings? Any other possible reasons? A tech said that could be the printer not connected to internet but I did some research and deson't see that's the issue. The printer is able to work as a stand along printer on mannual.

Re: Empty toner after replacement

Hi,

Try to shake well the toner cartridges. It is possible the toner to be strengthened. And if still not working you really need a tech because the toner path can be cloged, or something in the toner drive cartridges to be broken. The sensor who sense the presence of the toner is inside the developer housing and if it not sense the toner it declare an empty cartridge.
