C8000 print quality inconsistent along (not across) page

Product Name: VersaLink C8000 Color Printer
Operating System: macOS 12 - Monterey

I am printing an A4 page containing two identical images alongside each other, the print quality of the text is different between the images.

The most confusing aspect is that it doesn't matter whether I set the card stock in the tray to print short or long sided the effect is still the same. Changing the card weight setting doesn't make a difference either.

I have also swapped the images over, just in case there was a problem with the image, but the left image is always darker than the right image.

I have printed on my Canon printer and everything is fine on that.

Does anyone have any other suggestions - I'm desperate as (as you can see) these are wedding invitations!
