Cheryl, it turns out the problem was with the configuratoin card.  While awaiting an answer here, I did a search and per a Xerox troubleshooting guide, it was recommended that the card be removed and reinstalled.  Problem solved.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure you are following all the steps in this solution for setting a static IP.  Make sure to follow all the steps and read the caution on the end of the solution that addresses the error messages you may see.  If the problem continues please consider contacting you local support centre

CQ8580 IP Problems

I just purchased an 8580 to replace an 8570 but I cannot seem to set a static IP, and automatic (DHCP) addresses are showing as duplicate. Every address I attempt to input is rejected with the error: "This IP already In Use" or something like that... for EVERY manually entered address.

 

What gives?
