Time spent on the network has nothing to do with a ppd, your issue is network related, a Wireshark trace is the only way to see why, and where the problem is, I'd simply switch to RAW (port 9100) and hope it fixes it.
Joe, thank you for your answer.
I have found the ppd file and added the printer to CUPS.
I use LPR command to send and print files to this printer.
Now, the problem is that it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minutes for a 200KB pdf file) for printer to receive the data and print the file.
Also, sometimes I get these errors:
"Unable to write print data: Broken pipe"
"/var/spool/cups/d63693-001: reported number of objects (44) inconsistent with actual number of objects (28)"
Do you know, what the problem could be?
Xerox is an odd company, we package the PPD file under Windows, and just to make it difficult, package it as an executable file, to be sure Linux users have to jump through hoops. (Not really, but I have no better explanation)
Grab the EXE file here, open it in whatever program you use for zip files (It's a self extracting zip file packaged in an exe)
There are 3 PPD's inside.
I need to print to 3345 WorkCentre printer using CUPS.
For this I need the ppd file. I have search for it and cannot find.
There are ppd files, but for other Xerox printers.
Has anyone found the ppd file for 3345 WorkCentre printer?
Or maybe anyone knows how to add this printer to CUPS?
