Re: Calibrating a Phaser 7800GX with PhaserCal/PhaserMeter

We took delivery of our Phaser 7800 DN today. I have also been trying to calibrate it and create profiles for it especially custom colour profiles. I have run into a rather large problem. We own an i1Pro2 Spectrophotometer so we didn't even consider purchasing the Photometer. I have been able to calibrate the 7800 using the i1Pro2 since I was given the option in the drop-down list. However most other calibration functions of PhaserMatch 5 require the use of the PhotoMeter. In these cases PhaserMatch doesn't even recognise i1Pro2.

Can you please look into this since we are eager to utilise all of our 7800's capability.

Thanks

Ben

Calibrating a Phaser 7800GX with PhaserCal/PhaserMeter

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

We have acquired a Phaser 7800DN about two and a half months ago, which is in the process of being upgraded to a 7800GX. A couple of weeks ago the PhaserMeter has arrived and I first tried to calibrate the printer with this measuring device using the PhaserCal | PhaserMatch software.

I have not been able to find a proper user guide for version 5 of PhaserCal | PhaserMatch. The online tutorial that is accessed from within the software interface contains no information on how to setup the printer driver when printing the targets. I tried several settings that seemed logical based on my experience of priniting targets but the calibration prodcedure took colors to the worse.

So I am currently manually calibrating the 7800GX. Thanks to the stability of the printer, it does not need calibration very frequently.

I would welcome any information with regard to the calibration of the 7800GX.
