Can I slow down bypass tray printing?

Jump to solution
Product Name: Phaser 3610DN
Operating System: Windows 7 x64
I am using the PCL5 driver on a Phaser 3610DN to print checks. Preprinted & numbered check stock is loaded in the bypass tray. I would like to slow down the printing so as to be able to pause printing (pull the tray) should I see a miss-feed. Suggestions please. FWIW, on my previous printer (a Brother), I was able to slow down the print speed by setting the paper type as heavyweight and the dpi at 1200. No joy so far with accomplishing similar on the Phaser.

It should slow down if you program the stock in bypass as cardstock. You can try other stocks such as transparencies. (not sure what other stocks are avail on this model).

As for the misfeeds, pull the bypass tray all the way out. Youll find a black roller in the back. Run it in the sink with water, then set the tray upside down to dry. You might reach in and clean any other rollers in there with a damp cloth (with water). I suspect toner on the rollers causing slipage.

Thanks! The lightweight cardstock option did not work but heavyweight cardstock appears to, at least when printing an alignment test. It was harder than it should have been though. You can't just configure the tray setting, you must configure the driver. I'll be starting a new thread for help understanding the purpose of "Panel specified" since the driver seems to override that setting.
