Re: Can you help me identify this printing issue? Phaser 6500

Joe,

Thanks for all your help! Took my fuser out and looked at it, can see that it has physical damage in one area. Was hoping something was just stuck to it and needed cleaning but no such luck.

Its called "Barber poling" and is usually the Developer housing.

If you can see the problem on the fuser roller it needs to be replaced, other wise the imaging unit is at fault.

Joe,

I think you are right about the fuser mark. I printed the pdf you provided, blank spots only appeared on the red sheet, but upon close inspection of the yellow and blue sheets, I could see the same mark repeating all the way down the page.

While I have you here, any ideas on what may be causing that pattern of fade that you see diagonaly accros the entire image?

Probably safe to say it is a fuser mark, likely something got stuck to the fuser that was within the paper path.

Print the attached document, if the defect appears in one color, it is the imaging unit/drum, there is a roller per color so you would be able to see the defect on the roller, just look to the one that corrosponds to the color that has the omiission. But I'm fairly sure it will be all colors since at least 2-3 colors appears to be missing from your output in the picture.

Everything is here.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Somewhat new to laser printers, I own a Phaser 6500 and it has recently started producing a printing defect. Can you identify the problem from the image and let me know what course of action may remedy the problem? The toner seems to be sticking to a roller or something, the areas pointed out are areas that have no toner applied, if the image was only half sheet, the same shape would appeare on the empty space below the image with the color that failed to "stick" above.IMG_20160117_200226.jpg

Thanks!
