Both forward AND REVERSE DNS lookup tables have to be updated on the DNS server of your network with the Xerox host name and IP. If only one is setup it won't work. Our drivers are bidirectional...so have to talk both ways
Hi steveliput,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. I do not see in any of the documentation or support material that you can use a hostname to access the Xerox CentreWare Internet Services web interface on your printer. You should use the IP address of the printer to connect. Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I am trying to access my printer web interface via a hostname, for example http://xerox-printer.local
This fails and gives the message "Invalid Request. Some Error"
when I ping xerox-printer.local it resolved the private IP address and has successful pings
I can access OK using the local private IP address
Any ideas why this does not work?
