After further "investigation" yesterday, I got the software related issue.
I needed to login to my puter with my admin/superuser account and made a
- Rebuild Launch Services
- Repair Disk Permissions
After doing so, the Xerox Printer appeared again using a standard account on OS X High Sierra.
the printer suddenly entirely disappeared under OS X preferences. I can no longer add my Xerox
printer in my WLAN network. OS X High Sierra says, there is no "bonjour" printer.
The ethernet is correctly set up. I already made 4 test prints one hour ago, but for some reason
the printer is now entirely gone. It no longer shows up in the add printer menu as "bonjour" under OS X
