That worked! Although I swear I found that setting and tried it before.

Menu > Admin  Menu > Secure Settings > Software Download

Make sure it is set to Enabled

Unfortunaley, it has the same result. As soon as I click to download the new firmware it says cancelling.

Cannot update firmware on 6015NI

I have a Xerox WorkCentre 6015NI and I cannot update the firmware. Current version information is:

I downloaded the firmware on this page:

First I tried updating to 1.00.23 but when I click to update it looks like it's uploading the files but the printer immediately says "Cancelling..." I have tried through wireless network, wired network and USB.

When I tried to revert to version 1.00.13 the firmware tool does not detect my printer so I could not even try it.

 

I also tried navigating the admin menu to reset to factory defaults by selecting Initialize NVM, my printer had 3 options so I reset all of them (fax, scan, system).

 

The reason I am trying to update is the printer seems to be going to sleep and I always have to power cycle it. I am trying to update to a more stable version.

 

Any idea on how I can get the firmware updated?
