Dear Joe,
I`d like to thank you for the solution. This update completely solved the problem!
You are the only one that could solve this!
Thanks for all your help and effort!:manvery-happy:
Best regards,
Patrick.
Well, if it does not work from a pen drive either it should not work from a PC, then pen drive is inserted in the copier USB right? Not the Mac?
First off, do a Software/Network reset, this is done at the copier by logging on as the admin, select Machine Status/Tools/Troubleshooting/Resets and choose the option that resets both (No settings will be lost) then try a print, should that fail.
I suppose it is possible that the PC is using a PCL driver, and the Mac would certainly be a PS driver, so it could mean that the copier has a faulted/corrupt PS Engine. Check the webpage (Centerware Internet Services) and select Properties>General Setup>Configuration Report>Postscript and verify it is there. Should look like this:
The latest firmware for the device is 061.121.224.11800 and that can be obtained here if you do not have it.
https://www.xrxgsn.com/admin/user/spar_release.ihtml
The release code is WC75xxSpar
Installation would be as follows.
on the printers webpage select Properties>General Setup>Machine Software>Upgrades and set it to “enabled” if it is not and “apply”
Then select “Manual Upgrade” from the left and browse to where you extracted the download above and follow the directions. It will take about 25 minutes to complete and it will not be usable for that time.
If that all fails you would need to call for support, most likely the printer will require an ALTBOOT, so I would make sure to have a current config sheet available as the settings on the device would be lost if it needs to go down that route.
Joe thanks for your your reply,
I tryed your solution but the issue is still there.
The job keep processing image and I can only clean it by turning the print on and off about 5 times.
I tryed to print by the pendrive and it have the same problem.
Do you have another solution that I could try to solve this?
Thanks for your effort and help.
Patrick.
PLease try on just 1 of the Macs:
Remove the print driver from the Mac,reboot then run this download to install it again.
That will search the network and install all the correct drivers and finishing hardware of the device as well as any additional trays.
Make sure all jobs are canceled from the printer and then submit a fresh job and tell us if it resolves the issue.
The reasoning is this, Sometimes Apple releases print driver packages that replace Xerox drivers with other drivers and on occasion, the drivers get corrupted. Here is an example of one that was put to the OSX updates recently http://support.apple.com/kb/dl912
As for firmware, there are no firmware levels to fix printing from Macs, that would always be a driver/ppd.
If you have corrupted firmware a tech would need to ALTBOOT, which would wipe the device of ALL settings, so we don't want to jump on that too quickly, and to the printer, it only sees print code it understands, so a job from a Mac and a PC are virtually identical at the point it gets to the printer, so if the issue does not occur with a PC, then the issue is in how the Postscript is being generated on the Mac, and that is handled by the driver.
There is more relevant information.
I verified the print software and it responded to contact a xerox tech.
Is it possible to fix the problem updating the firmware or doing some configs?
Thanks for your help.
Hi PatrickSA,
Thank you for using the Xerox forum.
Since you mentioned that the problem exists only on the Mac it could be a problem with the rendering of a specific file.
Have you tried another similar file to determine if all jobs hang or just this one? If other jobs print then I would start back at the client that created the file and determine is some setting was off.
If that does not resolve your issue you may consider our "Contact an experienced service technician" at the following link: Fast Track to the Expert
Please help!
We have a network printer Xerox 7556 and we were printing without problems.
But without a reason it stopped printing. We send the job to print but it keep processing forever and dont print.
I have to switch of the print almost 5 times so other pc computer can print again.
All my drivers and firmware are updated. This only happens with the Macs. PC computers prints fine.
Is there any solution for this? Any reports that I can send to have a solution?
Thanks!
Patrick.
