Re: Color Qube 8570 will not power up

Jump to solution

hi all,

I also got the issue where my 8570 won't power up. In fact, the same issue occurred during its warranty period, and as if on schedule, as soon as the machine moved outside its warranty period, promptly the same issue ocurred again - and the machine has been sitting on my floor unable to power up. I bought pretty expensive original ink as well, so I am really not happy with xerox at all. It is the first time I moved to xerox machines, I had brother and HP for years with no issue, and I expected a better service. Xero also refused to be able to tell me what fix they applied while the machine was still in its warranty period. I suspect xerox did not implement a permanent fix, just  a quick work around to get it working, knowing full well the issue would re-occur. I am unable to get anyone from xerox support to come and answer themselves - I have the trouble ticket ID I created while the machine was in warranty.  Can someone from XEROX come an explain themselves - or at least help me find out what fix they implemented during my machines warranty period.

regards,

manu

i have spent £400 + on this printer and extra £400 on toner- just after 12 month, this printer decided to hate us and not power up anymore... contacted Xerox and explained to them the issues, they don't really care.. thye asked £350 + for the repair...

there is a real issues with this model, power supply issues. This is not fair and spending over £800 for just over 12 months is a joke! other brand such as SAMSUNG, HP guranteed last much longer.

they promised to call back for an update but failed.

I have exactly the same issue on a 13 month old one and if anyone is reading this I suggest you just buy a replacement machine (there are always deals on) and  keep the old one for parts.

We have bought 4 of these things and whilst the print quality is great and the cost per print very good, they are completely unreliable.

Not one has lasted longer than 18 months and they are not used excessively. Each one has failed for different reasons - motherboard failure, paper feeder cogs slipped, unable to read ink in tray and now power supply.  The additional 3 year warranty in UK is GBP200, which is the same price as a replacement printer. You should take this up though as chances are you will need to buy a new printer otherwise and more than one in the 3 year period is uneconomic.

Call out in UK out of warranty is GBP285 plus tax, so completely ridiculous given a new machine is GBP200 plus tax. It saddens me environmentally to keep dumping these things every 18 months but it is just the way it is. I plan to cannibailise two broken ones to make one working one! Would be nice if Xerox could make something a little less disposable...

Thanks - have tried a number of alternatives regarding power but still no joy. There are some great deals on at the moment so will purchase a replacement machine whilst we look into getting the old one fixed.

fizzybee,

I would suggest putting a call into your local dealer who should be able to send a technician to evaluate your machine for a low cost.

Hi fizzybee.

Have you checked the circuit breaker?  Here is a solution that I located in the product knowledge base that has information that might help.

Color Qube 8570 will not power up

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Our Color Qube 8570 was networked and the network crashed, so it was turned off and turned back on again as no networked computers could connect to it. To begin with it powered up and the xerox logo appeared in the LCD display but it got no further than this.

The machine was turned off and on again, however when turned on the machine did not switch on. There are no lights on the machine. I have tried an alternative power source and still the same issue. It is out of warranty (but only 16 months old) so trying to establish if it is repairable or better to buy a new one.

Thanks
