Go to the printer's menu screen. Choose "Paper Tray Setup", then "Tray 2 Paper Type". Once there, check to see that you have "Plain Paper" If it says "Card Stock" or something different, change it to Plain Paper -- something the printer can print in duplex.

Re: ColorQube 8570dn will not print duplex

I have the same issue with a ColorCube 8570. Two days ago, all Users were not able to print 2-sided. Yesterday, I found this post and did the NVRAM reset which then allowed them to print 2-sided without issue. This resolution was short-lived however as this morning these same users are again unable to print 2-sided.

Unfortunately, the supprt contract for this printer expired in January so I can't call Xerox to troubleshoot. I am concerned that it may be hardware related but since the printer is just over a year old, I am hoping that isn't the case.

Any thoughts as to what the root cause might be and possible fixes would be appreciated!

Thanks for the link CherlyO! I tried every one of the solutions listed including even the internal "Print a 2-Sided Demonstration From the Control Panel" and NONE of the settings fixed the issue - still printing one side only. So finally I did the NVRAM RESET. Then I set the printer to 2-sided long-edge from the front panel. Voila! The internal "Print a 2-Sided Demonstration From the Control Panel" printed on both sides. I uninstalled/reinstalled the printer & driver from one of the PCs and tried a 2-sided word doc and that printed on two sides also. The other PC had its existing driver and that ALSO printed two-sided. Did the same thing on the 2nd 8570 and it's doing the 2-sided printing again too. Not sure what went sideways that caused this to begin with (on two different machines no less!) and doing the hardware reset is a "last-resort" type solution, but it worked for me this time. Just need to go back and change some settings on both printers. Thanks for the advice! -Rich M. in CLE OH Xerox NAAO Analyst.

ColorQube 8570dn will not print duplex

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post
I have TWO ColorQube 8570dn printers in two separate locations, both connected via network. Each printer has two users. About a week ago or so ALL FOUR USERS can no longer print 2-sided duplex even though the Printing Preferences show "2-sided - long edge" and Microsoft Office is set to 2-sided printing as well. Tried installing both the newest PS and PCL5 drivers - no change. Ran a firmware update on one of the printers from 10.62. to 11.20 and tested again - still no change. All PCs are Windows 7 32-bit and print via a network connection. Duplex printing was working fine with no changes to anything up until a week ago. It doesn't seem to matter what program I print from (browser, PDF, Office, etc.) or what the 2-sided printing is set to: BOTH printers will only print to one side regardless of what the settings are. PLEASE ADVISE ASAP!
