Re: ColorQube 8580 N to DN conversion kit

Hello lockecoders,

This is a North America forum so we don't have a lot of information for the UK.  I did google Xerox Sales in the UK and found this link with some information that may be of assistance to you. It also has a phone number in case you don't find what you are looking for. I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Re: ColorQube 8580 N to DN conversion kit

I can't be sure, I am 100% going from Spec sheets and then confirming via the drivers.

I don't have a printer near me to test an actual job for quality or jams, at best I would just end up angering the person who maintains it.

Great!

We need deplex to make photobooks, so do you think that 200-250gr/m2 weight matte-paper will be accepted for duplex printing or will cause paper jammings?

Re: ColorQube 8580 N to DN conversion kit

Thank you so much Joe! It's easier to do than to say!  Yup

So I'll proceed immediately to order the SIM. So with the correct driver my macOS will recognize correctly the DN duplex? Windows Yes, Mac no, you would need to reinstall it or change the setting manually via CUPS (Reinstall is faster)

Just last question: did you know the maximum type-weight of paper accepted for duplex? Duplex is an option for all selectable types of paper with exception to:

1. Cardstock

2. Labels

3. Transparency

4. Envelopes

First is due to the rigidity of the stock, 2-4 are self evident ;-)

I have in fact had people get Irate because they wanted to print 2-sided transparencies :-(

Re: ColorQube 8580 N to DN conversion kit

It's so simple a manual isn't needed really, you already have a DN, the D just needs to be enabled, which is done by a SIM card (The big ones from cell phones before we moved on to Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM)

If you want the manual/instructions, they are listed generically as Configuration Card on the Xerox.com documentation page for the 8580

ColorQube 8580 N to DN conversion kit

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello,

Our office just bought an used Xerox ColorQube 8580 N printer (not the duplex one DN version).

Now we are interested in this item:
Xerox - 097S04673 - N To Dn Upgrade Colorqube 8580
Link to understand what i mean:
https://www.amazon.com/Xerox-N-DN-Upgrade-097S04673/dp/B00OO9ZIPK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&q...

With this item can I convert our printer to a duplex-printer? Is it easy to install on our 8580N? Can I do it myself? Is there a manual to do it?
Thank you so much in advance for your reply.
Kind regards.

Marco
